- One booking, one price. Flights, hotel, luggage and transfers together, so there are no surprises at the airport.
- Low deposits. Many package holidays can be secured with a small deposit and paid off before you travel.
- Extra protection. Under EU package travel rules, the company that sells you the package is responsible for all of it. If the flight is cancelled, they have to sort the hotel too. Check the seller is licensed or bonded before you book.
- Often cheaper than DIY in July and August, when hotels and flights booked separately both peak.
How to find a cheap package from an Irish airport
- Be flexible on the airport. Cork, Shannon and Knock can be cheaper than Dublin for the same resort, and save you the drive.
- Try 7 and 10 nights. Ten nights sometimes costs only a little more than seven.
- Look at self-catering or B&B. In Spain and Portugal, eating out is cheap, so all-inclusive isn't always the best value.
- Go just outside school holidays. The last week of June or the first week of September can be hundreds cheaper for a family.
- Lock in with a deposit when you see a good price, rather than waiting for a last-minute deal that may not come.
